We started off with AK LNG and how that project is coming amid China’s trade disputes with the Trump administration, and we’ll also touch on how rising oil prices are affecting the budget conversation in Juneau.

That so far has been the high water mark for the sockeye return to the Kenai river. And it happened nearly a week ago. Since then, estimates from the sonar counters have trended steadily down with just 14,000 counted as of Wednesday. Season total so far is 383,000. King salmon numbers are looking ever so slightly more positive, even with the personal use fishery going on. An estimated 647 kings passed sonar counters on Wednesday, the best return day yet for the late run king fishery. 7200
