A fatal car accident closed a portion of the Kenai Spur highway Tuesday afternoon in North Kenai.
Alaska State Troopers responded to a two vehicle collision shortly after two o’clock at mile 18 of the Spur. Eighty-two year old George Delano of Nikiski crossed the center line and struck a pickup driven by 73-year old Kim Lee, also of Nikiski. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene. Delano was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
