Furie forging ahead in 2019

Furie Operating Alaska

After failing to meet its development goals in 2017, the state Department of Natural Resources has signed off on Furie Operating Alaska’s development plans for 2019.

Furie has been working this year to complete development and exploratory wells in the Kitchen Lights Unit in northern Cook Inlet. The company also completed a number of repair and maintenance tasks, including upgrades to the Julius R platform, from which it has been operating the Spartan 151 jack-up rig, and testing subsea pipelines.

Next year, the company plans to drill some additional wells, potentially bringing the total number of gas-producing wells to four. A fifth is also planned, but financing for that depends on payment of state tax credits owed to Furie.
