Motorcyclist dies in Nikiski collision

Alaska State Troopers

A Niksiki motorcyclist died in a collision on the Kenai Spur Highway Wednesday evening, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers said 40-year-old Martin Marlin was driving his motorcycle near mile 18 of the Kenai Spur a little after 5 p.m. when he collided with a Nissan SUV that was turning in front of him.

Marlin was medevaced but died from his injuries soon after the crash. The driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to troopers.

Troopers said the investigation is ongoing and that they have not issued any charges at this time. They said witnesses of the collision should contact the troopers' Soldotna office.

The accident was a few miles away from the site of another fatal Kenai Spur collision that killed three people and injured four others last month.
