Nikiski boy, 14, killed in ATV accident

Alaska State Troopers

A Nikiski teenager was killed in a four-wheeler accident on Monday night.

Fourteen-year-old Skylar Lyon was out riding a four-wheeler along Halbouty Road in Nikiski around 8 p.m. when he went off the road and hit a tree, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Emergency responders arrived and transported him to Central Peninsula Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His next of kin was on-scene, according to troopers, and the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
