Voting to support Music in the Park ends today

Wednesday is the last day to vote for the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce’s proposal to be awarded a Levitt Amp music series grant again this year.

The chamber got one of the competitive grants last year to enhance its Music in the Park series. The Levitt Foundation awards $25,000 matching grants to up to 15 U.S.-based nonprofits serving small- to mid-sized towns and cities across the country.

The foundation has final say in the 15 grant winners, but public participation is required to be in the running. People vote online from all the hopefuls and the top 25 vote-getters move on to final consideration. As of Tuesday, Soldotna was around 18th place, but that could change in the final hours of voting today. Chamber personnel were out at Fred Meyer yesterday signing people up to vote for their proposal.

To vote, you can go to grant.levittamp.org. Voting is open through 4 p.m.
