Pickled Beats
7-9 p.m. Sundays

Josie Oliva grew up in Nikiski to a large family mixed with construction and homesteading roots. She has always loved listening to music but, sadly, can’t play and can only sing well enough to scare cats. She also loves  forcing everyone around her to listen to the new song she found, ever since she made her entire family listen to “Strawberry Wine” by Deana Carter on repeat during an Alaska-Arizona-Alaska road trip in 1996. Learning facts about the artists and the songs they sing has remained one of her special interests. She is now  on KDLL as the host of Pickled Beats to continue the self-made tradition of making people listen to the “cool new songs” she found each week during their drives (or whatever relaxing thing they planned to do on a Sunday evening).
