This year, the Alaska Historical Society will hold its annual statewide meeting on the central Kenai Peninsula, collaborating with the peninsula’s local historical societies. Registration is now open, with special options for Kenai Peninsula history fans. The conference will run Oct. 5-8, with activities in Soldotna and Kenai. That Saturday, Oct. 7, events will focus on the Kenai Peninsula, with speakers about local legacies and presentations about local museums and historical society projects. People can register for a single day, for the entire conference, or for attending online only.
