Weekly Programs

Lego® Club
Mondays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Join us every Monday in the Front Conference Room to build awesome Lego® sculptures! Each week a new theme and challenge will help spark your imagination. We will also have a dollhouse open and available each week in the same room! Bring your own doll or play with ours.

Wee Read
Tuesdays from 10:30am - 11:00am
Intended for young children ages birth to three years and their parents or caregivers, this program focuses on early language and social skills through fun stories, songs, and play time.

Tech Time
Tuesdays from 11:00am – 1:00pm
Tech time is available at the Kenai Community Library for anyone with basic technology questions.
We can help you with:
• Basic computer skills
• Accessing library resources
• How to access eBooks and Audiobooks
• Using devices such as eReaders, tablets, and smartphones
• Digital photos
• Social media
• Email
*We do not take apart or repair devices, assist with financial transactions, or handle malware/viruses. While we will do our best to assist you with your technology needs, these are offered to allow you to expand your skills, not as a replacement for commercial tech support.

Join us after Wee Read or Preschool Storytime for playtime! The toy bin will be available, along with coloring sheets, sensory bins, and more to promote social emotional learning skills.

Chess Open Hour
Wednesdays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Do you like playing chess, or would you like to learn how? We’re proud to offer a casual chess program for all ages and levels. Boards provided.

Early Reader’s Book Club
Thursdays from 11:00am - 11:30am
Designed with our newest readers in mind! Join us for word exercises and a chapter book read-aloud.
We will be reading selections of the “Magic Tree House” series by Mary Pope Osborne. Intended for ages 5-10.

"Grow with Me" with Steve Latz
Fridays from 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Interested in learning about gardening? Meet with me to learn more about growing flowers and vegetables in your garden. Our round table will focus on sharing my experiences with growing food for the table and flowers for eye candy. We will discuss your home garden/greenhouse/high tunnel and suggest options to maximize your return on investment. I will share the successes and failures I have learned from experience. I am not an expert but a lifelong gardener who wants to share my knowledge and encourage you to experiment with your growing operation. Please join me and start growing!

Mother's Day Storytime
Monday, May 12 from 10:30am - 11:30am
Join us for a special story time celebrating our moms! Following stories and songs, we'll have a craft time to make handprint cards to continue the celebration of Mother's Day.

Not-So-Secret Society of Tweens
Tuesday, May 13 from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Our new, and not-so-secret, monthly program for youth ages 8-12 to hang out! If you're looking for a space to spend time, stop on by. Do your homework, play video games, munch on free snacks, and more!

Green Up Your Clean Up
Tuesday, May 13 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Join us for a fun hour of learning how to make your own laundry detergent. We will also discuss all the "green" items you have at your house in order to not use harmful chemicals while you clean your clothes, house, and yard. Take home some great recipes, some laundry soap and green up your cleanup this spring and summer! Registration Required

STEAM Studio
Thursday, May 15 from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Join us every month to work on cool STEAM projects using a variety of tools. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics.This month we will be using Makey-Makey to design and build our own game controllers. Designed for a variety of experience levels ages 8 to 14.

Scavenger Hunt
Monday, May 19 All Day
Every other week, solve a riddle to uncover a secret spot in Kenai. Find the hidden code word and tell a librarian to join the prize drawing!

Summer Reading Registration Opens!
Monday, May 19 All Day
It's time to Level Up at Your Library! Come by the library during open hours to sign up for the Summer Reading Program. Registration begins May 19th and you can sign up all summer long.
Registration is easy - just visit the main desk to pick up your Player's Log (12 and under), Punch Card (Teens), or Bingo Sheet (Adults). When you sign up, you'll get all the information you'll need about how to find our programs and win prizes!
