Soldotna Parks & Recreation has partnered up the Fitness Place to bring you an outdoor exercise class suitable for all abilities. Join us every Monday in June & July from 6-6:45pm. Class Fee is $5. no preregistration required. This will be a 45-minute Functional Fitness class that includes five phases: warm up, learning form, main workout, core exercises, and cool down. Functional Fitness focuses on getting your body moving in ways that are similar to how you move during daily activities, while improving balance and stability. This class follows a minimal equipment format, meaning you can perform all exercises with bodyweight or with a pair of dumbbells. Some example exercises will be Squat, Plank, Lunge, Good morning, Jogging, Jumping Jacks. Every movement is modifiable.
Since this is outside, an exercise mat is optional. We will bring a few pairs of dumbbells, if you have your own please bring them with you. Also bring a water bottle with you and wear clothing you can comfortably move around in. If you have any limitations, please let our instructor know at the beginning of the class.
