Play Nature Bingo all of June. Keep an eye out for various critters this summer and record them on our nature bingo card for a chance to win some small prizes. Available at the front desk.
4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays in June. Learn how to tie a fly or two during four step-by-step sessions led by the Kenai Peninsula Trout Unlimited Chapter. Class is designed for ages 12 and up. Space is limited. Sign up at the main desk or call (907)283-4378 to reserve a spot.
Saturdays. During sunny Saturdays in June, stop by the library and spruce up our sidewalks with family-friendly art. Chalk is available for kids at the front desk. Share photos of your artistic adventures with us on the Library’s Facebook page.
11 a.m. to noon June 3, Little Crafts: Salt Dough Charms — Session 1. Designed for kids 6 and under. This month we are making charms out of salt dough. We’ll form and design our charms in session one, and paint our creations in session two June 21. The craft will take around 15 minutes each session.
4 to 5 p.m. June 3 and June 17, American Girl Club. The Dollhouse will be open for this fun hour of play. Bring your own doll or play with ours during American Girl Club! Meets the same time and place as Lego Club.
4 to 5 p.m. June 5. If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 and have a passion for community, books, and learning, TAB is for you! Make suggestions to help us plan library programs and select new library materials, meet new people, earn volunteer hours, and more. Our meeting will last 30 minutes, followed by a hangout time. New members are always welcome.
3 to 4 p.m. June 6. North to Adventure: Create a Compass. this session, make your very own compass and learn about magnetism. Designed for ages 6-12.
1 to 6 p.m. June 7, Fiction and Beyond. The Friends of the Kenai Community Library will hold a First Friday Pop-Up Sale with the theme Fiction and Beyond.
3 to 4 p.m. June 13, STEAM Studio. Join us every month to work on cool STEAM projects using a variety of tools. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics, and more. This month we will learn how to create digital music with Sonic Pi.
Noon to 1:30 p.m. June 14, be an Upstander. Join us for a free active bystander workshop. Learn how to analyze situations, intervene safely and effectively, prevent harm and build a safer community. Presented by the Lee Shore Center’s Ashley Blatchford.
4 to 5 p.m. June 14, DIY Kites. Let’s go fly a kite! Make your own diamond-style kite to launch into the skies during the annual Kenai Kite Festival on June 24. All materials will be provided and no sign-up is necessary.
3 to 4 p.m. June 20. Plot your Adventure: Fantasy Map Making. Stop by for a step-by-step session on how to create a one-of-a-kind map. From the shape to the features and names, we’ll show you how to get started. Open to everyone age 8 and up.
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 20, plein air painting. Enjoy summer by painting with your friends at the library under a bright blue sky. If it rains, we will paint indoors. Space is limited. Sign up at the main desk or call (907) 283-4378 to reserve your spot.

3 to 4 p.m. June 21, Nintendo Switch Club. Bring your own device or play on ours. This is a chance to meet other gamers, share skills and info, compete, and enjoy Nintendo together. We’ll have Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart up and ready. Open to anyone ages 8-18.
2 to 3 p.m. June 22, Krambambuli Puppet Theatre. Krambambuli Puppet Theatre presents “Not Your Typical Dragon” Pick up your tickets at the library for a puppet show. Tickets are limited. This event was made possible by the Friends of the Kenai Community Library. Suitable for ages 3+.
10:30 to 11 a.m. June 24, StoryWalk Storytime. Join the Kenai Community Library at Daubenspeck Family Park (meeting on the side near the Walmart parking lot) to enjoy a guided StoryWalk. Our walk along the short lakeside trail will be filled with songs and fun for the whole family.
3 to 4 p.m. June 24, Gold Rush Adventure. Learn about the history of gold in Alaska and try your hand at panning. The first 40 kids to arrive will also get to crack open their own quartz geode. Designed for ages 6-12.
