Teen Advisory Board (T.A.B.)

If you are between the ages 12-18 and have a passion for community, books, and learning, TAB is for you! Make suggestions and help us plan library programs and recommend new library materials! Meet new people, earn volunteer hours, and more. Meetings are 30 minutes followed by a hangout time. New members are always welcome. The April meeting is Wednesday, April 3 from 4-5 p.m.

Little Crafts: Macaroni Art

Join us this month to make noodle art. Designed for kids 6 and under. The craft will take around 15 minutes. Monday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Scrap Cat Bed

Learn how to make a cat bed out of all the little fabric pieces you have laying around. Make one for your cat and one for the cats at the Kenai Animal Shelter. This program is designed for adults. Sign up at the front desk or call 907-283-4378 to reserve a spot. Tuesday, April 9 from 5 to 6 p.m.

Escape the Dragon’s Lair

You and your friends, lured by whispers of a legendary dragon's treasure, are now prisoners in its forgotten lair. Work together, using only your wits and courage, to decipher the riddles and crack the dragon's code to escape the clutches of the beast before it returns to find its lair disturbed. This program is designed for adults. Space is limited. Sign up at the front desk or call 907-283-4378 to reserve a spot. Two sessions — 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, and 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

Reading Dogs

If your child would like an attentive friend to practice reading aloud to, look no further — Reading Dogs is a program designed to boost reading confidence by reading with a certified therapy dog one-on-one for 15 minutes. Recommended for elementary and middle school aged children who can read independently. Registration required. Sign up at the main desk, email us at kenailibrary@kenai.city, or call (907) 283-4378 to reserve a time slot. Held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24.

Teen D&D

Join us for an afternoon of Dungeons & Dragons. Please bring a level 3 character ready to play, or we can provide one for you. Open to ages 12-18. Space is limited. Sign up at the main desk or call 907-283-4378 to reserve a spot. From 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.

Speed Chess

Can you find checkmate in 1 minute? Join us at our regularly scheduled Chess Club time to try your hand at Speed Chess! No registration required. From 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17.

Libby @ Kenai Senior Center

Did you know that you can get eBooks, audiobooks and magazines on any mobile device for free with the Libby App? Join Elizabeth from the Kenai Community Library and learn how to download, link your account and start using the Libby App all from the comfort of home. From 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

STEAM Studio

Join us every month to work on cool STEAM projects using a variety of tools. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics, and more! This month we will be using Tinker Labs to solve problems using gears, motors, and lights. Designed for a variety of experience levels ages 8 to 14. From 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

Nintendo Switch Sports @ Teen Time

Tennis, bowling, golfing, and more! Drop by during the hour for some snacks, lemonade, and competition. Open to anyone ages 12 to 18. From 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 23.

Poetry Storytime

There will be poems a plenty, stories and songs, rhymes and good times for all those that come! This special storytime will be followed by play time and coloring. Intended for ages 6 and under. From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 26.
