Kenai Conversation: COVID vaccine

Dr. Kristin Mitchell, with Central Peninsula Internal Medicine, Justin Rufridge, co-owner of Soldotna Professional Pharmacy, and Dan Nelson, manager of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management, are here to discuss the COVID vaccine this week.

Currently, people 65 and over, healthcare workers and long-term care residents and staff are eligible to receive the vaccine. Visit www.covidvax.alaska.gov to make an appointment. Or, if you’d rather contact a provider directly, check with your primary care physician to see if they’re giving the vaccine. And there are several providers open to everyone, including Soldotna Professional Pharmacy, Peninsula Community Health Services and the pharmacies at Fred Meyer, and Kenai Safeway.

For help making an appointment, the Office of Emergency Management staffs a helpline from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, at 907-262-INFO (4636).
