Municipal elections in the Kenai Peninsula Borough are fast approaching.
This week and next week, we’re talking to the candidates for the three open seats on the Soldotna City Council.
Jordan Chilson is currently on the council and is running for Seat C. Micah Shields is also running for the seat. He was unable to join us in the studio today.
Later in the hour, we talk to Linda Farnsworth Hutchings, who's on the council now and is running unopposed for Seat A. We also replay our conversation with Sammy Crawford from the Central Peninsula League of Women Voters.
Tune in Sept. 22 for the second round of Soldotna City Council candidate interviews, with the candidates for Seat B. You can read more about all five candidates here.
There are two spots open on the Kenai City Council, three seats open on the Soldotna City Council and three seats open on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly.
We’ll be interviewing candidates on Kenai Conversation throughout the month of September, ahead of the Oct. 5 election. You can register to vote in that election up until Sept. 5.
There are also seats up for grabs on the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Board of Education. We'll talk to those candidates later this month on our KDLL evening newscast.
