Assembly to hold special meeting for COVID-19 matters

Kenai Peninsula Borough

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly will hold a special session at 2 p.m. April 3, to discuss emergency measures related to COVID-19.

On the agenda:

  • Extending the annual payment deadline for outstanding balances in special assessment districts from March 31 to June 30.
  • Providing for an exception to the operating agreement between the borough and South Peninsula Hospital to allow cash in excess of 90 days to be retained by the hospital, as of March 31, and other exceptions to their operating agreement.
  • And appropriating money to the Office of Emergency Management to cover costs associated with the COVID-19 disaster declaration.

The meeting will not be physically open to the public, in keeping with CDC guidelines. The public can participate through ZOOM online conferencing, or there will be a toll-free phone number available to use.
