Kenai Peninsula Borough mayoral candidate Linda Farnsworth-Hutchings raised more for her campaign than Borough Mayor Charlie Pierce this election, according to most-recent campaign donation reports from the Alaska Public Offices Commission. As of today, Farnsworth-Hutchings has a total reported income of nearly $34,000, with Pierce around $26,000.

Farnsworth-Hutchings also out-spent Pierce, with expenditures coming in at around $21,000. Pierce has reported spending closer to $20,000.

Farnsworth-Hutchings last reported new donations and expenses Oct. 4, while Pierce last reported Oct. 2.

PAC-wise, Pierce’s campaign saw support from the Kenai Peninsula Republican Women of Alaska, Alaska Republicans and Enstar Employee PAC, in amounts of $500 each. Pierce was an employee of Enstar for almost 40 years.

He also received $1,500 from the Republican Women of the Kenai. One of the group’s contributions, in the amount of $1,000, was Pierce’s single largest contribution.

Pierce attended an in-person Republican Women of the Kenai event in Homer on Oct. 2, attended by other members of the Alaska Republican Party, including Sen. Dan Sullivan.

Farnsworth-Hutchings received a donation from the NEA-Alaska Political Action Committee on Education for $1,000. That was the largest contribution to her campaign.

Troy Nightingale, of Kenai, is also running in tomorrow’s race. There were no forms filed for his campaign on the APOC site.
