For our first set of election 2021 interviews, we spoke with Victoria Askin and Jim Duffield, two of the five candidates for Kenai City Council. There are two seats open on the council this election.
Later in the program, we talked to Sammy Crawford from the Central Peninsula League of Women Voters about why it’s so important to vote in local elections. She also remembered her own first time voting.

There are two spots open on the Kenai City Council, three seats open on the Soldotna City Council and three seats open on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly.
We’ll be interviewing candidates on Kenai Conversation throughout the month of September, ahead of the Oct. 5 election. You can register to vote in that election up until Sept. 5.
There are also seats up for grabs on the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Board of Education. We'll talk to those candidates later this month on our KDLL evening newscast.
