Turner conquers weather-shortened Tusty 200

A slightly shortened Tustumena 200 was won on Sunday by Fairbanksian Dave Turner in his third attempt.

Starting at Freddie's Roadhouse on Saturday at noon, the T-200 course was shortened by more than 20 miles due to the rainy weather and washed-away snow.

Turner finished in a time of 25 hours 15 minutes. Four-time winner Cim Smyth was second, followed by Nicolas Petit.

Another team from Turner's kennel was mushed by Eli Campbell to victory in the Tustumena 100 with a time of 12 hours 12 minutes.
