A 15-year-old died of cardiac arrest while hiking, according to Kenai Fjords National Park. A Michigan newspaper reports that the hiker was on a summer camp trip for Jewish children and families from the Detroit area.

A convoy of State Trooper vehicles from Soldotna to Seward yesterday grabbed the attention of residents along the way. A spokesperson says they were providing backup to an arrest attempt in Seward, although no arrest occurred.
