Join us every month to work on cool STEAM projects using a variety of tools. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics. This month we will be using Tinker Labs to solve problems using gears, motors, and lights. Designed for a variety of experience levels ages 8 to 14. This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
What stories lie hidden within a map? Like a Matryoshka doll, each place name carries the history of many others nestled within. Join retired University of Alaska Fairbanks geography professor Roger Pearson and retired Kenai Peninsula Borough School District history and Russian language teacher Gregory Weissenberg to explore the many layers of history behind Russian place names in Alaska.

Sue Biggs, creative dance instructor, will be leading a community dance response to the painted mural project at the Kenai Art Center. This is an event for anyone who loves to move; no dance experience is necessary. The movement will be created through guided activities. This movement form is based on the work of Barbara Mettler who believed in bringing creative movement to all. There is a $5 donation for the Art Center. Please wear comfortable and non-revealing clothing. For the safety of all, Sue asks that there be no fragrances or large pieces of jewelry on dancers.
