ENSTAR's annual 811 Kids' Art Contest is open for submissions! Show us why clicking or calling Alaska 811 before you dig matters, and you could win an ice cream sundae party for your whole class!
Open to elementary students in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Municipality of Anchorage, and Mat-Su Borough school districts. One winner chosen per region.
Winning artwork will also be featured in ENSTAR's 2027 Safe Digging Calendar!

The Kenai Community Library is looking for Lego® builders for this year's Brick by Brick show! Display your very own custom Lego® sculpture (that means no kits!) and compete for the title of "Best in Brick!" Simply build your sculpture and then drop it off at the library sometime from April 6th to 12th. Our opening reception will be held on Monday, April 13th at 3:30pm just before Lego® Club begins. Vote on your favorite build during open hours to see who is Best in Brick! Open to all ages. Age categories for contest are 5 and under, 6-12, 13-17 (teen), and 18+ (adult).
Stop by our community room to make a craft and/or play a board game! Supplies and instructions provided for the crafts, just bring your imagination! Board games are also provided.
*Please note there will not be a Create and Play Station set up on Saturday, April 18th.

Stop by the library during open hours to see incredible Lego® creations from local Lego®-enthusiasts. Vote on your favorite build and help us decide who is this year’s Best in Brick! Join us for a super cozy storytime! Wear your favorite pajamas and join us for some classic bedtime tales. Designed for ages 5 and under.
Warm your kitchen and your spirit in this 7-week Creative Aging cooking series with Bobbi Stelljes, local chef and former owner of Fine Thyme Cafe. Learn soup-making with locally sourced ingredients while building practical skills, saving money, and reducing food waste. The series is 6 classes for instruction and concludes with a celebratory final gathering on the 7th week. Participants that can commit to the series are encouraged to join.
This program is made possible in partnership by the Kenai Local Food Connection, the Soldotna Library Friends group, and the Soldotna Rotary Club.
