true_tales.jpg

True Tales, Told Live is a storytelling group in the central Kenai Peninsula. Participants tell a true story, live, with no notes, based on the night's theme. The fifth storytelling event was held June 2 at Odie's in Soldotna, with the theme of "Nature vs. Not Sure."

Storytellers were Matt Pyhala, Bill Holt, Pegge Erkeneff, Allie Cunningham, John Messick, Clare Swan, Kat Sorensen, Jenny Neyman and Meezie Hermansen, with live music by Kelsey Shields. In this edition, we hear from Matt, Bill, Pegge, Allie, John and Clare. Tune in at 11 a.m. July 1 for Kat, Jenny and Meezie, and for bonus stories from a previous True Tales event.
The next event will be Oct. 13 at Odie's, with a theme of "Family Recipes for Disaster."

Jenny Neyman has been the general manager of KDLL since 2017. Before that she was a reporter and the Morning Edition host at KDLL.
