Election 2018 Unofficial Results

There weren't many surprises in Central Peninsula races as results trickled in Tuesday night.

District O Senator Peter Micciche held a sizeable lead over the write-in candidates hoping for an upset. As of 10:15 p.m., Micciche had 66% of the vote, with 14 of 17 precints reporting. Overall, he held a lead of 3,142 votes.

In House District 29, Independent candidate Shawn Butler of Hope was trailing late Tuesday behind Republican Ben Carpenter of Nikiski. Carpenter was watching results come in at home with family. He felt good about his standings, leading the race 69% to 30% with just one precinct left to report.

Gary Knopp ran unopposed for reelection to House District 30 and had 94% of the vote late Tuesday.

One potential upset could come from House District 31, where Republican Sarah Vance was leading Democrat incumbent Paul Seaton 59% to 40%.
