Stokey wraps up Peninsula mushers' Iditarod

The fourth and final musher from the Kenai Peninsula finished the Iditarod early Sunday morning. 

Sarah Stokey of Seward rolled onto Nome’s Front Street in 34th place, just before 7 a.m. She had 10 dogs in harness and had an elapsed time of 13 days 15 hours 59 minutes and 1 second.

Travis Beals, also of Seward, surged to claim 5th overall, finishing in 10 days 3 hours 37 minutes and 25 seconds. He was down to eight dogs on the final leg from Safety to Nome. Seward’s Mitch Seavey, with seven dogs, was less than five hours behind in 9th place. 

Ryan Santiago of Sterling finished 29th late Friday, in 12 days 5 hours 20 minutes and 30 seconds. He still had a dozen dogs in-harness.
