Kenai Conversation: Talking trees

How’s the health of the trees is your neck of the woods? Find out, with the help of retired silviculturist (fancy forester) Mitch Michaud.

The Alaska Community Forest Council is offering Arbor Day grants. Grants from $200 to $500 can be used to plant trees or shrubs or support other activities that promote Arbor Day in Alaska, on May 18. The grants are aimed at local governments, schools and nonprofit organizations. Grant applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. March 20. The Alaska Community Forest Council is holding its annual tree sale of Alaska-grown seedlings May 16 at locations in Anchorage and Wasilla.
