As part of its Way of Knowing Wednesday lunch talk series, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center welcomed a Kasilof-based painter to share her work and the process behind it. Susan Watkins has been a full-time artist for nearly 30 years, painting large-scale, nature-inspired murals around the world.

Patrons of the Kenai Art Center this month may find themselves whisked away to familiar locales of the Kenai Peninsula. On view are a number of colorful and detailed paintings that were created after a life-changing diagnosis.
