A winter storm warning is in effect for the western Kenai Peninsula through Tuesday afternoon. Additional snow accumulation of 4 to 10 inches is expected.

More than 20 Kenai Peninsula schools were closed, while thousands of customers lost power under heavy snowfall. Portions of the Sterling and Seward Highways were impassible due to more than 20 inches of snow.
