🌿 Join us on Resurrection Creek in Hope for a day of planting trees to restore fish habitat along the newly constructed pools and meanders!Resurrection Creek is in the middle of a major restoration effort to restore over two miles of in-stream and 74 acres of riparian habitat.This is a great opportunity to get involved with hands-on restoration and revegetation of a creek that hosts 4 species of pacific salmon while learning more about the larger restoration project. The Kenai Watershed Forum has its annual Salmon Run Series at Tsalteshi Trails on Wednesday nights, July 9 to Aug. 6. Run or walk a 5K course at Tsalteshi Trails. Courses get progressively more challenging week to week, with week five repeating week one’s course to see how far you’ve come. A youth fun run starts at 6 p.m. with the 5K at 6:15 p.m. More information and online registration is at www.kenaiwatershed.org.

Join Tsalteshi Trails Association for a forest ecology hike at 1 p.m. July 13. Explore the trails and learn about our forest in a guided hike led by forester Mitch Michaud. Meet at the Skyview Trailhead, behind Skyview Middle School in Soldotna. The hike is free and open to the public. Registration in advance is not necessary. Tsalteshi Trails Association has its annual Soldotna Cycle Series mountain bike races Thursday nights, July 10 through Aug. 14. Check-in starts at 5:45 p.m., races start at 6:15 p.m. Registration is $5 per race for TTA members, or $10 for nonmembers. Cap the season with the Tsalteshi Gauntlet route-finding race Aug. 24.
