Visit the library to celebrate the start of our annual Summer Reading Program, Plant a Seed, Read!
During our kick off, we'll have stations for all ages to create and explore, as well as sweet treats and refreshments to enjoy!

It's not too late to decide to host an AFS exchange student. There are students from all over the world who would love to be part of your family for a year, including students on scholarships from Germany and Flex Scholarship students as well. Come team up with Kenai Parks and Recreation to elevate the city's flower beds for the upcoming Summer!

All ages are welcome; no experience is necessary. Just bring your gloves and help bring color and life to our city’s flower beds.

Following planting efforts, Lunch will be hosted at the Kenai Fire Station for ALL planting volunteers.

Bonus: Groups can reserve time to plant a community flower bed with the city park staff in the days leading up to the main event. This opportunity is available from May 26 –29. To reserve a time, contact Kenai Parks & Recreation at 907-283-8262, or Email parks@kenai.city

When: Saturday, May 31st, 10 AM - 12:00 PM, (BBQ at Kenai Fire Station to follow, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

Stop by our community room to make a craft and/or play a board game! Supplies and instructions provided for the crafts, just bring your imagination! Board games are also provided.

Join local chef Bobbi Stelljes for a hands-on Stone Soup cooking class!

Inspired by the classic story Stone Soup, each adult and youth pair will bring one soup ingredient to share and help create a variety of delicious soups together.
