KDLL's Jenny Neyman speaks with Lisa Maloney, author of "Day Hiking Southcentral Alaska," about becoming a guide book author and writing her new book. This show aired at 10 a.m. May 22. On May 23, Maloney gave an Adventure Talks presentation at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center, showing pictures and talking about trails in the region, as well as hiking safety, gear and more.

This past weekend may have been the busiest of the winter. What with Native Youth Olympics, the Tustumena 200 Sled Dog Race, the Arctic Winter Games, and who can forget the KDLL Annual Membership Party?

Well, on Saturday out at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge visitors center, a mushing guide turned author demonstrated his Siberian mushing set up, and talked about his new book, "An Alaskan Adventure: Tales of a Musher."

This is the Kenai Writer's Almanac for Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, featuring early land titles in Kenai, as well as “Shifting Seasons," a poem by Gaye LaRane, of Kenai, and "The Morning Commute," by Marilyn Wheeless, of Kenai.

The Kenai Writer's Almanac for Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, featuring a history of Binkley Street.

Also, “Last Rose of Summer," a poem by "Dave Thompson, of Kenai, and "Monkeyshines," by Brent Johnson, of Clam Gulch.
