On today’s episode of the Kenai Conversation, we’re airing a talk by Robin West, a retired biologist and 14-year manager of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge about a solo canoe trip he took on the Yukon River. This talk was hosted Jan. 20 by Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges. West spoke at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center in Soldotna and to watch parties in Anchorage and Homer.

Prior to joining KDLL's news team in May 2024, O'Hara spent nearly four years reporting for the Peninsula Clarion in Kenai. Before that, she was a freelance reporter for The New York Times, a statehouse reporter for the Columbia Missourian and a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
